Thoughts on SuitSupply MTM?
Given the number of pattern adjustments they allow for and the fact that I already have suits which fit me flawlessly, I imagine I can get a good fit, at worst, after some alterations.
The question then becomes, is the quality worth it? I'd be going with a full-canvass option and want something that'll hold up. With their production model and with things I've heard about brands such as Indochino, I'm wondering if there's been any problems with basic integrity.
Any other thoughts or tips would be appreciated. I'm aware of the StyleForum thread, but it's 1600 pages. I'm aware of Spier & Mackay, but they don't have the fabrics nor cut I'm looking for.

Had really bad experiences looking into suit supply MTM recent (2 different stores, 3 visits total) and chose Brooks Brothers MTM instead, which was a fantastic experience.
Well I guess my response may not be helpful if you have an off the rack suit from SS that fits you “flawlessly” - but let me know if you want me to elaborate on my experiences at SS v. BB.
If you already have susu suits that fit flawlessly then using them for mtm seems almost like a no brainer. Their price is solid for the quality of their work.
by that i meant i have suits from other brands which i can get measurements off of, not SuSu
If I misread that and you want to bring other suits in to be measured for mtm, then probably that'll work well
yeah
Yeah unless you're rather unusually shaped they should be able to measure both you and your existing suits
https://reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/s/RSzmU5Ramp has a lot of people saying that their MTM model is “as few alterations as possible” so… depends how that works for you.

Though the more boring option is to keep buying the ones that fit flawlessly haha
if only i wasnt broke : (
i've heard that sales reps try to do that, but looking with what you can customize online, there's like 40 different pattern adjustments you can make. pretty extensive for this range
would be interested in hearing. was the initial pattern taken incorrectly or were the measurements correct but with an inaccurate final product?
I did not end up purchasing through SS, but essentially, they don't want to actually take measurements. If you want specifics, I visited the Tysons Corner store in northern VA and the Georgetown store in DC. I talked to multiple different sales associates and every single one of them was confused at the idea of taking measurements. One of them even said "I've been doing this a long time - I'll just use my eye to fit you." I did actually go to get "measured" (which is uploaded in what SS call's their size passport online, or something). They put me in a jacket, said "looks good," put me in trousers and said "we can open the seat 1 inch" and that was basically it. Needless to say I did not purchase. I read multiple threads online that SS associates are trained to get customers out the door with as little change to the base suit as possible, which clicked with my experience.
In contrast, I went with Brooks Brothers MTM, and had a super knowledgeable sales associated who took measurements on me for nearly an hour. He even had me sit down and cross my legs and do various movements to see where fabric was tight, pointed out that the internal rotation of my shoulders was causing a weird scrunch in the arm fabric (and explained how this could be accounted for during suit construction via rotating the sleeve 1/4 in the other way), and so many other small issues that I really appreciated being alerted to. After all of that, BB has a similar online tool to SS that allows you to choose the patterns/details (buttons, cuffs, pockets, side tabs/belt loops, trousers rise, lapels, pick stitching etc).
(also its pretty easy to get 15% off BB MTM, which makes it $848, almost the exact price for most SS MTM options I considered)
Well that's a lame experience!
