I am tryign to update to the latest version but I keep getting this error and I dont know what to do next.

Hi, you run from source in the VM, correct?
You have a local conflict. This is why we recommend Docker.
Can you execute commands, while it is running?
Yes I'm running in the source VM console. And yes I can execute commands. I could just move it over to docker if it's to big of an issue.
- Create a backup of your config
- Enter git status and send a screenshot here
You made changes on your local system and it can't update, because it doesn't know what changes it should take. We can help, but this is not a problem you would have with Docker
Just take this as an information. You're obviously free to use whatever system you want (including VMs). Upgrading just can be a bit harder
I have tried running git reset --hard and some stash command but I always get this and did not find a solution around it.
Run "pwd"
You're in the user directory of your user (root). You must navigate to the Homarr directory, to execute any of thsese commands
Can do you
-
cd /
- ls -lha
?Where did you install it?
Maybe in /home?
Or did you mount it like a virtual drive?
I used a Proxmox helper script. So it basically was automated. I may just throw it in docker so as not to waste any more of your time.
Proxmox helper scripts are pretty popular so I doubt I would be the last one to have this issue.
Its run in a LXC container
Sorry, I can't really help you, if you don't know the location
It could be anywhere in the VM. We also don't officially support Promox
No problem I will see if I can make this an issue on the github for the helper script.
Appreciate the help and if I find a solution I will update here.
Thanks again.
Perhaps it would help, if you send the script here
It's most likely just Shell, Python or something similar

Its under dashboards.

What ended up helping me was cd /opt/homarr then git stash
@702enigma good job solving it yourself. We can't help with every install methods because some of them even we don't know about 😅
Anyone have a link to the script to install Homarr on Proxmox?
Not seeing it listed under https://tteck.github.io/Proxmox/
