How to wear this gun check jacket?
I recently purchased this Harrington jacket from Spier and Mackay. I'm thinking of wearing it for a casual event coming up with a white shirt, navy blue tie, navy blue high rise chinos, and black oxford shoes. Does this sound like a good combination? Or do y'all have other suggestions on how to style this jacket?

For a casual event, I would make sure the tie is on the casual side (or ditch it) and brown derbies or loafers instead of oxfords.
It's for a 5 year anniversary homecoming event, if it helps. I want to look on the dressier side
Sounds good, I'd still advise against black oxfords because that's very formal and doesn't work with the other pieces
Oxfords are generally only worn with a suit, or at least a sports coat/blazer-adjacent type of thing (but mostly just with a suit)
For the tie just don't wear a stuffy businessy one. The ones in the inspo pics work because they have texture and fun patterns
Otherwise the Harrington, pants and shirt sounds nice
oxford with brogue can be casual, but not too casual
That's true. OP, what do your oxfords look like?
like these, the Clarks Tilden Cap
Too formal for the outfit you described
Those are for suits
I'm having some fun with dressing oxfords down, but always brogued ones, usually brown, burgundy, or shell. Those are plain captoe black oxfords, meant for a suit for sure. In CURRENT_YEAR you can get away with wearing them with wool trousers and a sport coat I'm sure, but that's not really matching the more formal intent.
the green onesie thing is fire, any idea what that is?
