Flatpak apps cannot launch web links (via firefox) or other apps e.g. gwenview
Discord is a flatpak app, and when I click a link, e.g. a github issue - it prompts for confirmation and when I confirm - nothing happens.
Similarly with other flatpak apps, e.g. Thunderbird. I am trying to open a picture attachment off an email, I select Gwenview as the app to do it in Thunderbirds "open with" selector and nothing happens.
Thunderbird also failed opening the file selector dialog when I wanted to attach a file to a new email, but this solved it - https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/issues/196
I rebased to Bazzite from Kinoite. It worked under Kinoite.
Does anyone know what can be inspected or what I should set to get it working?

To be honest I also had this issue. So I tried a clean install (maybe I should have waited for help debugging) (https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1144630974366351482). When I reinstalled I ran into (https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1144127836106534922).
I solved that one by rebasing from silverblue. I am not sure I tested it afterwards. Will do when I get back to my pc.

yeah, would be great if someone knew how to debug this. The logs for
xdg-desktop-portal
are empty
running systemctl restart --user xdg-desktop-portal
fixes the issueI also re tested this after the clean install and it’s working (not sure how that helps lol)
I think it's an issue with getting the default apps. I have had this type of problem. I think that was why I just use Junction via Flatpak as my default browser.
nope, something with flatpaks, since
systemctl restart --user xdg-desktop-portal
fixes itIf this happens every session, add that to your auto start commands
where would that be?
Autostart in settings
