Not sure what to do with overcoat
I just purchased this overcoat, and I’m not sure how I feel about it (on me—it’s definitely a nice coat). It seems too long, completely covering my knees and touching my calves, which in turn makes me look shorter. It also may be a bit loose on my frame, as I’m quite wiry, but I’m not positive. As someone new to overcoats, what should I do with it? I don’t know if shortening would make it look better on me or if doing so is even possible given the breast, button, and pocket placement. I could also always return it (and potentially look for a 3/4 length if that would suit me better) or keep it as is.

I don't think it makes you look short - also personally I think short overcoats look a bit silly
I also don't think it's too loose on you - overcoats aren't meant to be very slim or anything
Wear it in the winter and don't worry overmuch.
I don't think it's very loose at all. Definitely don't have it shortened
Is this the SEH kelly overcoat?
Looks nice tho
Very nice coat. You look tall and cool. Keep!
Yeah fit is good to great imo it's an overcoat throw it over sweater/flannels when you're going out in the winter
That's a great looking coat; even though this particular style isn't exactly my favourite. You should definitely not get it shortened; I know that the majority of coats sold today are short and relatively slim-fit, which is quite unfortunate imo, and ruins a good silhouette.
Absolutely do not shorten it. I think it looks a bit strange over a suit - from what I can tell from the photo the fabric and details seem like they're meant to be casual. I think it looks better with the orange sweatshirt and olive pants
Overcoats are meant to be long, you'll be glad when there's a cold gust of wind.
i have a few sehk coats so quite familiar with them. the chesterfield u have is mean to be casual, so it roomy and not taken in the waist like top coat. it looks great, dont change it. i saw someone shorten the sehk balmacaan before and it looked terrible. i think chesterfield doesnt fit the suits tie look. you wanted the balmacaan, the great coat, tielocken, or the upcoming ulster.
i am 5ft7 and this is how tielocken look on body for me.
