My server wont connect

My server had a world not connecting and was lagging from being online for a long time without rebooting the computer it runs from, but after restarting the computer the entire system runs and the servers config has not changed since beforehand but its not even reading the connections at all anymore, nothing changed since before, ip is the same, the ports are the same, firewall still allows players through, but it still keeps saying 'cannot connect to server' and placed to read its connection say its offline.

i have velocity to forward to ports from 25560-25572 on that server group, with 1 being velocity listening on port 25565 for that specific computer, which i verified from my end that they were set up correctly still, i will need to copy a server log so gimme one second

Could you show the port forwarding rules and ipconfig as requested? As well as what you have in velocity.toml?

You don't need to port forward your backend ports. Just the port velocity is listening on Verify your host machine still received 10.0.094 as the IP address
Cardoril
CardorilOP2y ago
still has it, and i port forwarded just to be safe
Discount Milk
Discount Milk2y ago
It's actually less secure to port forward your backend server ports.

Mind sending the output of ipconfig/ifconfig, depending on what platform you use? (windows/linux respectively)

Lol don't use mclo.gs for that one. It censors IPs :OMEGALUL:

Discount Milk2y ago
you can't use your public IP to test from your local network that's called hairpin nat a lot of routers don't support it

Inside your router you should have something like an "internet status" or "internet connection" page

This is how mine looks, for example Compare the IPv4 there to the one you see in ipchicken

Alright good, you aren't a victim of CGnat And your machine can be connected to locally So the issue is somewhere either in windows firewall, or the port forwarding rules.
Cardoril
CardorilOP2y ago
At this point i completely disabled windows firewall for the sake of seeing if it was the issue and my port forwards are set already to their own numbers which i opened for the sake of ensuring connection
Discount Milk
Discount Milk2y ago
what
Cardoril
CardorilOP2y ago
all backend servers have their own ports i manually assigned from 25560-25572 except 25565 which was set for velocity 6 are for the servers themselves, 6 are for the vc servers
Discount Milk
Discount Milk2y ago
okay but you are supposed to ONLY port forward the velocity port
Cardoril
CardorilOP2y ago
i will try adjusting the port forward then still not working and as i say that a couple minutes later it fixes itself.... my computer hates me !close
