Canada's corporate ethics watchdog said on Tuesday it was investigating Ralph Lauren's Canada unit to probe allegations the apparel retailer's supply chain and operations in China used or benefited from the use of Uyghur forced labor.

The point I'd make is that given the majority of consumers would prefer not to think about the conditions their clothes are made in, it's government action investigating and potentially sanctioning these companies which could make a bit of a difference. No idea what the regulatory setup is in Canada though
