Parking Situation at Newnham campus
Hey everyone, just wondering are there any cheaper alternatives for parking? I know there is a semester parking permit which is like $320, but I only have to go to class in person 3 times a week so wanted something more affordable. I seen there is a Plaza with NoFrills close to the campus but people on reddit shared some stories of getting ticketed there. Any other places for park or am I out of luck and just pay the day fee 3x a week?

You could get a weekly pass, I think it’s cheaper than a parking permit
You can kinda park on the street and walk over
It’s hit and miss tho
I park in the plaza on the corner of Leslie and Finch (where Asian Legend is). I never got ticketed. It's a long walk but it's pretty lax there.
ohh thank you i will consider that!
onsite at the campus? or somewhere else
ohh thank you i see its only 20min walk which isnt bad i'll consider this
Like around the campus. There’s a public school or smt near by. But it’s a little bit of a distance walk
thats pretty long lol
surely thats like a 20-25 minute walk
i've been parking without paying this entire summer
although i have seen tickets on cars on one occasion
i would assume they'll be less lax about it in the fall when there are more students
but yeah i think weekly pass is the best value if you go more than thrice a week
i think the semester long pass is just not worth it at all; unsure why the price is so high
Hey beggars can’t be choosers lol
I wonder if you can just park at the Freshco parking... not sure if you would get ticketed tho
You can also get individual passes in bundles of 15, 30, 45 which is what I did last sem
They last for a year so if you don't use them you can carry over
I park at Seneca all the time for few hours, never got ticketed. But obviously don't do it if you can't afford to take a risk.
During Winter 2023, i was at Seneca 3 times a week, never got a ticket. But I was there early 8am. Saw tickets coming out around 12-2pm. Download the “honk” app on your phone, it’s $10 a day to park for the full day, cheaper than buying a pass. Remember one week is break/study week, some classes will get go online when profs r lazy
