Recommended brands to look for on Ebay (used) for wool/tweed jackets or sports coats under $150

Trying to find something similar to wear this fall to work. So far I'm looking at Brooks Brothers, J.Crew, RL, Spier and Mackay but are there any other brands I should look out for, or should I just settle for any brand? Thanks!

How I built an academic wardrobe completely secondhand
Those of you who know my posts here know I'm all about buying secondhand, so, I wanted to share how I recently built a wardrobe inspired by vintage Ivy fashion, completely secondhand from high quality brands. To research the different elements of my wardrobe, I read a lot of PTO, such as the following articles:

There are some links in there to some helpful eBay searches.

There's like eighteen thousand tweed jackets at the $50 and lower price point on ebay. $150 gets you primo stuff. I wouldn't really worry that much about brand of the maker... most of the standard brands rarely make a chunky tweed jacket. You may care about the mill that made the cloth (eg, moon, fox brothers, etc.) The nice thing about tweed jackets is that they use such a heavyweight cloth that they tend to drape nicely, even if the jacket is fully fused. I've seen a lot of really cheap stuff that works pretty decently. Also, a lot of brands making (or having made in the past) RTW tweed are british and I just don't know them very well ;) With that said, Rubinacci, also known as LH Napoli, sometimes branded as one or the other or both, makes a lot of really fucking good tweed jackets. Second-hand from them tends to be in the $100-300 price point. But they will do more of an italian style compared to companies making in britain and largely for the british market. Cavour is another option. But at the end of the day, between harris tweed, donegal tweed, etc, there's a lot of makers making good stuff and a lot of it ends up on ebay in great condition, ranging from very vintage to quite new.

Spier & Mackay tends to make tweed stuff, it rotates through. So their pieces end up second-hand at good prices. Also, adjacent to tweed sport coats, keep an eye out for vintage norfolk jackets and jackets inspired by that style. I also like tweed field jackets.

I didn't bid high enough on a norfolk jacket from one of the saville row houses and I am still mad about it :( Only after losing the auction did I realize how much I wanted it. Also a cavour gun club from fox brothers in a heavy tweed. (Which I may just have made for me...) But yeah, there's sport coat adjacent stuff that's really lovely out there. Teba jackets are just somewhat less formal, and just like tweed sport coats, derive from hunting. Norfolk jackets are sort of the precursor to (tweed) sport coats, being used for riding and hunting. Field jackets are (very much IMO, not claiming broad truth) basically a much less formal take on a similar aesthetic, a jacket designed for some amount of practicality, can be used for sporting, has sporting detailing, you get it. Oh, and an brown and moss/olive-green corduroy is classic ivy/professor look. These are usually cotton, not wool (nor wool tweed). Adjacent enough that it may be worth looking for. Can be both structured and unstructured. A few personal notes of taste. I think that brand new tweed jackets with elbow patches are ... affected, if you will. Elbow patches are kind of a sign of pride of long term ownership, they go over worn out elbows; brand new I don't like them. I am not the hugest fan of leather buttons, prefer brown horn. Hacking pockets go with sporting details, so they're at home on a tweed jacket, but I think subtle is better than in your face. Ticket pockets are fine. One center vent is traditional, allowing the jacket to split where you're seated on a horse, but I much prefer two side vents. I also don't own a horse. Similarly, traditional cut for a sport coat would have been different, especially in the back, than for a suit jacket, but these days they're identical cuts or close enough to it, and I prefer it that way (see above: I don't own a horse.) The style is and has been for some time now to do two buttons (3-roll-2 or true 2), but tweed jackets specifically being a fairly functional piece IMO work fine with three-button if that is your preference, and a storm collar is not out of place; remember, these are supposed to be warm, and buttoning up all three buttons, flipping up the collar and the lapel out, and buttoning up a storm collar, is a functional choice for when the weather sucks (if you weren't supposed to ever do it, the details wouldn't exist, right?) I don't care for heavily structured shoulders because tweed is supposed to be relaxed (IMO). Norfolk jacket details like a faux back belt, action back, and box-pleated patch-flap pockets can be okay, though at some point you just have a norfolk jacket you're mislabeling. Sometimes tweed jackets come unlined or only partially lined which I generally consider a mistake, one of mine is like this and it's scratchy. I think that's about it for all my preferences-notes.

Is there something similar for tweed trousers? Or is that not really a thing that brands produce? Not seeing many listed on ebay

I think the same query that @gimp posted finds trousers as well, there just aren't very many.

Yeah my search gets trousers. There are not a ton. Orvis vintage are nice. Asos are okay. Tweed by itself doesn't work as a search term which is why my search is more specific. Somehow tweed by itself results in eight million hits of not tweed.
