I had the same issue. It kept crashing over and over again when I installed the new Iris 1.6.7. I was on Faric with many mods. After a while, I got very worried and decided to delete all my mods from the mods folder and get back to the old Iris loader (1.6.5.) that I have in my MC launcher.
Now, everything is fine for me. I use no mods anymore. Only recourse packs and shaders... I really got worried because my game kept crashing OVER and OVER again once I installed the new Iris update
