https://superuser.com/questions/1554668/desktop-icons-spaced-out Short of changing registry, restarting explorer.exe seems the most common solution.

If you find that the Taskbar icons on your Touch Windows 11/10 device or Surface Pro laptop are too wide and spaced out, then you can change this setting to resolve the issue.

Only way I've fixed it is by restarting the display drivers with the CTRL+WIN+SHIFT+B key combo But the issue you're seeing is usualyl from running your game in fullscreen with non-native res

Thats interesting. I will note that in my wiki.

Too many buttons but thank you! I had this problem in 1080p and 1440p so do not know what is "native res"...

What is the resolution that your monitor is supposed to be IE: if you have a monitor that is 2160p and you play games in fullscreen in a resolution that is not 2160p then that issue will occur

I use 1440p monitors and play game in 1440p and my capture card can also run 1440p (but cc can run up to 4k)

You mean resolution? also 1440p. Now I use Live Gamer Ultra GC553 (before I used for 1080p Live Gamer DUO (with 1080p monitors) and had the same problem

Hmm What happens if you play in borderless windowed mode Also "too many buttons" you can save it to a stream deck hotkey if you have it or make a macro for it if your keyboard supports it best to try it once manually and see if it works

will try this next. I also have some screen tearing problems and found this as a solution... so hope to fix both problems... it's kinda my "restart explorer.exe" solution i came with for now. but it would be better to avoid this problem at all rather than do this macro every time...

Yeah can't do anything about screen tearing for capture cards unless you enable Vsync, or you use a VRR-compatible capture card

GC553 should have VRR I believe... I enabled Vsync already so will test this soon and borderless windowed mode. Thanks

The GC553 supports VRR if you upgraded the firmware for it

also did it today but not actually tested new fw yet LUL you for help, icons are now normal, will set all games into borderless mode. Also about tearing, it's gone (I believe) with Vsync on and new capture card fw, but I still set my game monitor to 144 from 165hz, do you think I need to do this now?

It's usually recommended to have your fps be a multiplier of the video's frame-rate, so for 60 fps, 120/180/240, to avoid dropped frames.
