Can't connect to Papermc console
I ran the command
papermc console
, but it just gave me There is no papermc session to connect to.
I looked through the documentation, and I couldn't find anything on it. The session is working, as I can connect via a minecraft client.37 Replies

Where did you find this command at
I use a papermc server, and that was provided in the help command
Where did you get that server? How did you set it up?
I installed it on Arch Linux, and then set up the
server.properties
file, and then ran it with systemd.Somehow you answered none of my questions so far.
Thanks.
I told you how I set it up, and where I got it from (the AUR), so I'm not sure what I'm missing here. What other information do you need?
Well
papermc console
isn't a command I've ever heard of. Soooo idk where you found that command from.
I'm not sure where you got your server jar from or how it is setup. Are you using a container? Bare metal?
Any real information would be helpful.Do you use windows?
How is it relevant to you explaining your setup?
Nevermind
Just to make sure, when you say command, you mean a command that is run in the terminal, as in a shell session?
You're the one that said the command. I asked where you got it from.
A link to whatever documentation you followed for example.
Like, how did you start the server?
I got that command from typing
papermc help
Are you trying to use tmux? Or screen?
How did you get that command?
Thank you for trying to help. I appreciate it.
I never used that package, but what does it say when you use
papermc status
?It says it's stopped
but I'm playing on the server
maybe there is a bug in the script, what if you use
papermc stop
and papermc start
?ill try
It responded with
The corresponding tmux session for papermc was already dead.
Still running on the client side thoughcan you stop the server with an in-game command like
/stop
?yes
now try starting the server again with
papermc start
and see if the console worksIt gave me
Starting server...missing or unsuitable terminal: xterm-kitty
, then did nothingit seems that it's an issue with tmux and kitty terminal
are you running tmux over ssh?
just run a server like a normal person instead of this random shti from the aur
AUR is built in, and thus runs better on Arch Linux.
paper mc aint gonna run better just because u installed some package from the aur..
^
zero logic at all
use the one from the aur updated by random people because its built in instead of the offical jar from papermc
Although the package downloads Paper from the official website I wouldn't use it because it uses an outdated build. Paper 1.20.1 is currently on build 105, not 19. In fact the pinned comment on the AUR says it won't be updated until there's another release.
Thanks
I'll have to try the one from papermc
I'll mark it as solved for now.
but if you still want to use it try setting the TERM variable to xterm-256color with the command
export TERM=xterm-256color
and try runnning the command again, but i don't know if it'll work
maybe you need to start the session againIt worked!
TY
If you are going to use that package i recommend manually replacing the server jar with the latest build
You're probably right
I'll have to do that
Also you need to set the variable every time you open a terminal where you need to use the server
is it that hard to just download the jar
lmao
i'd bet a kidney that whatever package you're using isn't going to be up to date for very long
