I want to buy some brown derbies to replace my dress sneakers
My budget is ~200€ and I'm thinking of getting this one from Meermin. Should be a pretty versatile shoe, right? I'd be wearing it with suits, sport coat and wool trousers combo and also jeans.

Would consider a darker brown tone and maybe without the awkward stitching on the top. Just stick to a classic plain derby, maybe with a cap toe, to make it slightly more casual for the jeans looks
makes sense
will have to see if I can find one in my budget
but isn't that technically an oxford?
or is it casual enough to be fine
That's an Oxford.
any other brands selling derbies in the EU for around or under 200€?
that aren't shit
astorflex cityflex in brown / dark chestnut
check if they're available from EU online retailers
still mad at Meermin for discontinuing these
I'd love that kind of design but sadly not into suede..
hmm ok. Does Beckett ship to EU? https://www.beckettsimonon.com/products/sutton-derbies

Sutton Derbies
A dress derby. How about a style upgrade? Not a complete overhaul, just enough to make you reconsider a standard. Sutton Derbies kick the profile into the C-suite. Constructed with a wholecut piece of full-grain leather, the upper is practically seamless and the beautifully rounded toe combined with a tapered waist giv
sadly, no international shipping or stores that carry them
throwing in the towel :/ I hope someone else can give you suggestions!
We have Asos here, do they sell anything decent?
Loake Troon
asos shoes in my experience are shockingly bad quality. They are more focused on churning out trendy models to care about longevity.
makes sense
Try Bexley.
I tried some derbies from JOOP! and they were also horrible
ah nice, they are available!
Personally I like these : https://www.bexley.com/kent-gomme-country-chocolate-grained-leather-393009.html

Grained Chocolate Derby Shoes - Rubber outsole - KENT GOMME COUNTRY
The Kent derby shoes, as its sister the Paddington style, is a true formal and timeless shoe but it is also a definitely resistant shoe, perfectly adapted to a rainy weather. Indeed, its upper leather is quite” water resistant”. You will also be seduced by the great walking deportment its rubber outsole brings. At last, you will love its derby sh...
hmm
there's a few that look nice
@machonacho95 personally, I think that apron derbies are dope, the Meermins above may not work well with jeans though because the vamp is so long. I’d check out Skolyx if you’re in the EU
the sleekness of this pair doesn't make them a good choice for a casual derby IMO. compare them to the ones I linked you, they read much more "dress shoe"
yeah, that makes sense
I guess maybe I just have to buy two pairs ^^
or stick with the Doc Martens for jeans
these are the ones I have
It’s very hard to find a shoe that works well with tailored clothing and jeans.
that makes perfect sense, I was just seeing if I can find something that can do it but with the constrained budget it's maybe just not realistic
Budget constraints make it hard for sure. I might consider trying to find some Paraboot Chambords secondhand. They’re an apron derby that works well with both
Are they resoleable?
okay, ordered 3 different shoes from Bexley. here's hoping at least one pair fits and looks good 😅
yes
