about moving to the hobby plan
hello, i know this has probably been asked many times before, but i have credits in my account and it still says i need more credits?

cost is based on usage no matter what payment type you are on. so perhaps a better name would be "credit based payment" and "automatic payment"

is that $5 of free credits per month from railway or a one time?
thats per month, but those credits are only used on resource usage, there is still a minimum 5$ fee
oh i see. so like a $5 per month, regardless of if my deployments use any of the already loaded credits?
correct, the same way you still pay monthly to netflix even if you didn't watch anything that month
so lets say i have $6, i load another $4, equals $10, out of that, $5 go toward the montly fee, and the remaining $5 will be available to use for my projects (along with the $5 from railway)?
well you can only load a minimum of 10$ but yeah you got the right idea
I highly recommend leaving the credit based plan and switching to the usage based plan

i'm kind of confused. aren't the credits usage based? how does the credit based and the usage based differ?

and in saying that, I highly recommend switching to the automatic payment plan type
