How do I switch to the prepaid credit-based plan?

According to the documentation, I can purchase credits in the billing page. But I don't see this option anywhere in the website. (I have an Indian-Issued credit card so i cant use the normal plan)
Solution:
Leaving this for anyone seeing this in the future: After you cancel your hobby plan subscription, it won't give you the option to enable a prepaid plan until the beginning of the next month After the month ends, when you have to choose a plan, it presents an option for prepaid in small grey text After you make your first payment, you can restock on credits whenever on the Usage tab....

I saw this response to a previous question, but I couldn't find such an option in the billing page even after cancelling the hobby plan.

This is what it looks like after cancelling the hobby plan. I'm really confused as to where the option is Any help would be appreciated.

Brody12mo ago
but question, how where you able to subscribe to the usage based developer plan with your card?
opulentorange
opulentorange12mo ago
railway accepted the card and i was under the $5 limit so it never charged me heroku for example rejected my card on the spot, which is why i switched to railway
Brody
Brody12mo ago
right but if railway accepted the card what makes you think payment would for sure fail?

it is a policy implemented by the RBI (reserve bank of india) it doesnt not allow automated payments without an AFA (additional factor of authentication)

is this a visa or mastercard?

i found this in railway help so i assumed my RBI card wont work when aug 1st rolls around it doesnt work on all such automated payments services

I have seen people from India say they've used their visa card on railway I don't think it hurts to try, right?

opulentorange12mo ago
uh yeah sure, i dont mind the monthly automated payments its just that IF it doesnt work, i would like to have prepaid as a backup i can rely on when aug 1st comes

the automatic payment based plan is honestly the way to go anyway

if it doesn’t work, you can buy credits if the transaction fails you’ll get an email and you’ll have a day or two to buy credits and if you miss that window the team will reenable your account and help you through the credit process
Brody
Brody12mo ago
oh really? it will give you the option to buy credits even on the usage based plan?
opulentorange
opulentorange12mo ago
oh so i can buy credits after i get that email? There's no option within the website itself in advance?
Adam
Adam12mo ago
it should, just cancel the usage plan and join the credit based
Brody
Brody12mo ago
we couldn't find the flow to accomplish that
Adam
Adam12mo ago
hm that’s a question for the team then
Brody
Brody12mo ago
indeed but in the mean time, try your visa anyway
Adam
Adam12mo ago
yup I would email billing@railway.app now and explain the situation get them to move you over to credit based
