How do I remove piling from clothing + jeans question
My hoodie is like, completely covered in it, and idk what to do with it. Keep wearing it like that? Donate it? How would I go about removing it.
I’ve spent like an hour pulling it off, using scissors, using tape/lint roller, etc and there’s still like a ton of it.
Also a separate question. I tried hand washing my jeans in a tub with detergent, then air drying them outside overnight, but they smell musty af afterwards. Should I wash it again (I’ve already tried it). What should I do differently? Should I lay it in the sun?
Also sry idk what tag to use so uh I just used recommendations

You can get, like, fabric shavers for this purpose iirc.
Absolutely get fabric shavers, they are cheap and will fix this easily.
Why are you hand washing denim, is it raw denim? if not, just throw it in the washing machine. might not have been washed properly or there’s still detergent that wasn’t rinsed off. if it still smells bad after a wash, i’d soak it in vinegar and water for a bit then try washing again.
I think put this on did a huge rundown of sweater shavers at one point. Those should work well
Nah just Uniqlo denim. I’m just hand washing it cuz I don’t want to throw it in with everything else cuz it’s usually done with hot water, and I don’t wanna throw it in alone.
I see thank you so much for the information
Oh i see thank you guys, I will look into sweater shavers
I am handwashing my raw too but it doesn’t turn neppy after a wash like yours. I think it is something with the fabric, agree on getting a shaver, it does wonder.
if your jeans smell musty after washing im not sure you washed them right. did you... use detergent?
yes, idk why
Prob the air and humidity
What i do is i use the dark wash detergent, put it in a tub, soak the denim for a few hours
Then rinse away
I air dry in low humidity environment in my basement
i see thanks
that’s smart
