Trying to get into straight fitting jeans from slim fits. Advice on length and style?
Been on slim fitting jeans for most of the past 10 years. Trying on some straight fitting jeans like this Levi's 551z. Planning to get these pants hemmed. These pants are currently folded in from the inside.
1. What would an ideal break be for straight jeans? I know it would be down to personal preference, but what would be a bit more versatile? Half break? No break?
2. Do straight fit jeans still pair well with sleeker shoes? Like the white sneakers I'm wearing. Or should I wear more chunkier shoes with them

I think the first fit is quite good tbh. The second one is just “chunky sneakers” and the pant-shoe interaction with the NBs isn’t as good
Yeah I think you’d want even bigger pants and more break for the nbs
First one is good though
How would you guys suggest I hem them? I’m planning to also potentially wear these with loafers. Folded up with NBs? Maybe chelsea boots? If they match.
I'd say two if you're going to wear them with your NBs?

The fit is great ! Makes me want to find one as well
Thanks guys! My girlfriend wasn’t into the fit. She said too much dad vibes lol. Could also be because she’s not used to me being in straight fit jeans
Full break with the NB’s, no break with the plain whites. I think they look great, your GF is gonna get used to them.
These look sick. Inspiring me to get into straight fit
The sleek shoes is much better. I agree, the clunky sneakers with the straight fit give off dad vibes.
I dont think full break pants + chunky shoes are my style but planning to use with NBs but with folded cuffs like this. Think it should still work?
Significant others disliking a fit is some of the highest praise possible haha
Sure, just experiment your way to what you like. Try one length with this pair and another with your next. I enjoy having different lengths so that my jeans behave differently with different shoes. It might just be that the no break looked a little «off» with the nb’s in the pic you postedbecause there was no hem.
I mean if you don’t like full break you could just ask to hem more?
Not a fan of cuffed jeans
Nice jacket, is it a Barbour ?
Thanks! It’s a vetra chore jacket

My vote is to hem those to 2 or 3 and then cop a pair of orange tab 550s off eBay to wear with the NBs
Got these hemmed eventually
