How would i make it so that i can host multiple games on Multicraft?
Is it easy?
Do i need to decompile and recompile anything?

i'd go for pterodactyl especially because of its huge community, a lot of them specializing on hosting custom games other than minecraft on pterodactyl
they have a good collection on their github repo https://github.com/parkervcp/eggs
GitHub
GitHub - parkervcp/eggs: Service eggs for the pterodactyl panel
Service eggs for the pterodactyl panel. Contribute to parkervcp/eggs development by creating an account on GitHub.
it's open-source too, so anyone in the community can know really well how it works and can help you troubleshoot any issue
it's a foss project too, just makes it even better
I have used Pterodactyl before and I love it but it just doesnt have some of the features I would like and the features i would like would just be way to expensive to implement.
and does multicraft hasve what you're looking for?
Yes, Thats one of the reasons i would like to move
if its something you need badly, then yea you should move to multicraft, with a small issue of losing out on a couple of features
have fun with ur old unmodern panel that still uses ftp and just isnt great :kek:
u do realise theres like 1 host in here that uses multicraft right? because for 99% of people (basically 100%) its just inferior to other products
and even then that one person is pebble and their panel is far from stock
Oh, pebble still uses modified mulit?
I remember seeing a forum thread where the ceo or owner or whoever was saying that they used it
but it was an ancient thread.
Heavily modified. Yes. They tried to use pterodactyl but ended up not liking it.
Full Modpack Installation (Like with most hosts)
server.properties editing (from a page not just file editing)
Frequently used controlls on the home screen
I see alot of hosts using it too so guessing it is better (I believe PebbleHost switched from Pterodactyl to Multicraft and toned of other hosts use multicraft)
Pebblehost
Scala Cube
ShockByte
ElixirNode
(tones more too)
"not liking it"?
99% of hosts use pterodactyl
Scala Cube ShockByte ElixirNodedear lord
^^
DO NOT strive to be like these guys
scala cube
bisect host
baited me with a "free minecraft server", ended up trying to charge me for installing a server software
iirc thats the reason its uses ftp and not sftp
holy shit
i just named a few random companies that use it
you keep listing the worst hosts
literally the worst of the worst hosts
shockbyte is switching to a custom made panel
for the record-
also.. ptero has a marketplace for various addons and whatnot
you can customize ptero to your liking
I dont want to have to sell my body parts to get a panel with the features i would like tho
he has said previously that he can't get a custom one due to its prices, atleast thats what i think it meant
what features
The base featues of ptero are pretty crap to be fair
??
Full Modpack Installation (Like with most hosts)
server.properties editing (from a page not just file editing)
Frequently used controls on the home screen
the first and last would be trivial to add
and for a file editor, that would be still be pretty simple
why do you need a server.properties editing?
it's extremely easy to master
im gonna keep it a stack too.. if you dont have bankroll to support getting features like this.. dont start hosting
took me less than a minute to figure out stuff
inb4 "mY uSeRs aReNt tHaT sMaRt"
tbh if your users are that dumb then they shouldn't be hosting an mc server in the first place
Just easier to make simple adjustments than having to go into a file every single time you want to edit somthing so small
^^
mood
Its not about the cost of it im just saying its expensive
you still have to go into a tab every single time you want to edit somthing so small
all it takes is just one extra click man
into a tab yes, not into a tab and into a file then to search in the file for the option
ptero not having server.properties does not make it any worse than multicraft
its just a sacrifice you might have to make
Well, not even that. If you can't afford the features you want yet, make sure you use a platform that you can add the features to as you grow and expand.
Nobody expects a new host to have everything, it's okay to grow your platform as you grow.
unless you're taking users who exist on multicraft and converting to ptero
and its gonna be slower
multicrafts ftp client is horrendusly slow
ptero file system elite
and with ptero u get my beloved sftp
with ssh keys support
so tl;dr this entire post, don't use multicraft, instead have a pay-as-you-grow (inspired from Oracle) with pterodactyl
also a much larger community
of people who can help and provide insight etc
multicraft is on its verge right now from what i can see, it's been overtaken by a literal minecraft ripoff in the search engines
multicraft was killed the day ptero dropped, and smaller hosts converted to it
why pay for multicraft when you can pay for amp
just because large hosts use something does not mean its sustainable - as i said, shockbyte is still on multicraft but they're quickly migrating to a custom made panel
For free, pterodactyl
For paid, AMP
anyone who steps out of this is most likely doomed with their plans
havent worked w/ amp yet
whmcs module
amp really isnt suitable for hosts tbh
I have AMP too
I love amp, and amp is great
but for hosts, pterodactyl is the only real option
question is you gonna pay to use multicraft for server.properties editor and that's it? modpack installers can also just be you going to a website and downloading it
I can give you access to mine if u want so ou can try it
but if you are insistent on having multicraft for those two reasons, then go for it
no no worries
nobody should stop you
its community is really big, that's the only good part about pterodactyl, and that's the most important part about pterodactyl or any other panel software
just know that it's absolutely pointless to be spending money on something you can do yourself with ease
I already have a Multicraft License i have had it for a while just not used it in a while
customization imo is leaps and bounds better
i've seen some slick things done w/ ptero
then go for it, you already paid
multicraft.. not so much. super janky interface
can you show me some of them
but there's no existent community that would want to help you with setup tbh
man why would you buy something without a proper, solid, and consistent plan to use it..
anyways yea if you really want those features feel free to use multicraft
many hosts ( my host included ) makes custom versions of the ptero panel which have stuff like modpack installers, server properties editors, rev proxy systems, server splitting, custom software installs, easy startup editing, firewalls, player managers, whitelist managers, etc.
modpack installers are really easy if you check out how MultiMC does it
I did use it, I used it for a long time but then stopped and switched to ptero
this is what i was referring to
hmm, a paid software that made you stop and use a free software
a host i used to use made a super customized version built off of ptero
Bloom.Host
DuckPanel - Custom Game Panel
DuckPanel - Our custom panel interface offers server splitting, plugin installation, off-site incremental backups and more! Included for with our Minecraft plans.
named it 'duckpanel' but
its still ptero nonetheless
Ye i have used it before
there's ultraservers as well, i don't know if they have heavily customized ptero (think it's not), but atleast i think it's heavily based on ptero
but you can do AMAZING stuff with it
and there's us (witherpanel, our panel for witherhosting) which have all those features i listed above :P ( except for server properties which we'll add in the future but honestly very few customers actually want something like that )
so again tldr
you can use multicraft if thats what your heart is set on and if you've already paid for the lic's. the support will be brutal though.
or you can switch to ptero, and grow as you go with addons / customization
duckpanel seems really cool for me, but the price is kinda overkill
did i not drop this link? ;-;
nope
brutal
our host is a budget one, $1/gb for budget, $2/gb for prem, so if you're interested, check it out
but yeah, that's the TLDR
we'd all say use ptero
Where do you even buy DuckPanel
yeah.. blooms prices are a bit rough. great support and great people over there
https://pterodactylmarket.com/resource/233 looks like we also have server properties editor
duckpanel is a custom panel made by the host. You only get access to it if you use their hosting
duckpanel is custom by bloom.host -
the last few reviews worry me
thought so
that's a big selling point for some companies a custom panel that has features you wouldn't want to build yourself or pay for
yea if its just plain pterodactyl people are better off buying a vps from hetzner/ovh
so there you have it @EnvoGod
You use multicraft, you're on your own, but with some cheeky features most likely no one with a brain needs.
You use pterodactyl, you have a Discord server with over 100k members that can help you, and can make the software even better, with addons or contributions
If you got your answer,

. If you have any more questions, probably ask it out@EnvoGod I've not actually see you enumerate what feature(s) you're after but haven't seen
these @PhonicUK
@EnvoGod AMP has those? Minus the 'commonly used' but something like that is coming for the settings page
No panel will have installation for CurseForge modpacks beacuse they don't have a public API, Hosts do it manually by pre-building server templates
I still use AMP I have it installed on one of my servers, I use it all the time.
I forgot about curseforge not having an API
Would it be easy to impliment pre built server templates so i can add them to AMP?
yes but no
i mean yeah not realistically but still
I have decided to stay with AMP for personal and a few community things and use Ptero for my other things
AMP has a templates feature in Network Edition and above
Oh ok amazing, Thank you, Are there any documentation on how to make templates or anything?
The panel walks you through it - you pick a base game, and its got options to add pre-defined settings, and let you set a path to an overlay file (a zip file) with pre-supplied files in
Oh ok thank you for that i really appreciate it.
