Help getting Strapi service running locally
I spun up a strapi instance in Railway, and after I clone the repo, I seem to be having issues getting it running. I see that there is some config set up with variables for local development but it seems those are incorrect?
Just looking to get help getting this running, as its not how I would normally spin up a strapi project, this just seemed quicker.

you will want to use the cli with
railway run npx strapi develop
or something like that
please read this docs page

are you using the railway cli to run strapi locally
no I was using strapi develop
I basically made the service, and once the service was initialized, I cloned the repo it made and tried to get that set up and this is where I am running into errors
Solution
you will want to use the cli with
railway run npx strapi develop
or something like that
please read this docs page
https://docs.railway.app/develop/clilet me try that
oh that works!
why does that work lol
I get this error when running railway up: The owner of this project is not verified
this is a project I was invited to, so does this mean the person who invited me needs to verify?
@Brody
what plan type are they on
not sure
prob the free plan
they would need to upgrade to the hobby plan, same with you most likely
hmm
I have been hesitant to upgrade my own just becuase I only use this for other client projects
pretty sure you know its worth it by now
I dont want an unseen charge to hit me
that won't happen will it?
you get emailed usage alerts, so unless you plan on dropping off he face of the earth for a week, it would be pretty hard to get charged with unexpected usage
you use the trial plan for work with clients?
yeah I get invited as a member to their projects
and what plans are they usually on
when they are ready to launch I make sure they upgrade to the paid tier
i assume they pay you, you would likely want to be on the pro plan
is that required?
no, its preferred
since you are profiting off the use of railway
oh i see
but i will say you absolutely should be on a paid plan
