Prince of Wales Check for a groom's Wedding Suit?
I'm figuring out what to wear for my wedding which will consist of a church ceremony at noon, followed by a dinner reception later in the evening. Would a Prince of Wales check 3-piece suit (looking at the Spier and Mackay suit linked below) be appropriate for the church ceremony, or would you say the texture is not formal enough? I would switch into a tux for the evening reception.

realistically: it's your wedding. do what makes you happy. i'm sure someone else can give better advice than me regarding the suit though
I love it
I think its fine for a wedding in a church
Its a nice check as well
POW is a nice pattern that provides a nice texture. This specific POW is very understated, not loud at all. Certainly a mid-gray suit in modest POW is both adequately formal for most weddings, but also neither overly formal nor somber. Great choice. Especially if you're going for a tux for the reception, classy (if a tiny bit fussy to make the switch, but it is nice to switch into fresh clothes if you're having a wedding where you need to be dressed up for over 12 hours.)
People in MFA don't like vests, but I do ;) so my advice is gonna be, go for the full 3-piece if that's what speaks to you and your wife-to-be. But if it's a hot day or you have reservations, you can ditch the vest and nobody will complain.
