Need Help with Server Set-up, Error Code: 0xC0000BB8
I'm trying to create a vanilla server for my friends and I, but whenever any of us attempt to join after launching the server, we receive the following message: "Connection timed out: no further information". I alone was able to join the server at first (from a different computer than what the server is being run on), but it randomly stopped working and I began receiving the same problem as my friends. I suspect this is because of the error I am receiving on the server command prompt, which states that there is a failure to add a PDH Counter. I'm not super tech-smart, so I don't have a clue how to fix this or what it entails, and I couldn't find any useful information online. For reference, I have already enabled port-forwarding on my network and computer firewall, so I don't think the connection being blocked is the issue (although I'm not entirely sure either). I would appreciate any help I can get.

Send the entire log file please using https://mclo.gs/
mclo.gs - Paste, share & analyse your Minecraft logs
Easily paste your Minecraft logs to share and analyse them.
You can get the log file from the logs folder, named latest.log
What version of Java and windows are you using?
Java Version 8 Update 361, Windows 10
The server is for Minecraft 1.20.1
You can't use Java 8 with minecraft 1.20, what's your output of
java -version
?
Might be java --version
Where do I use that command? I tried it on the cmd and it says it's an unknown command.
Nevermind, i did it on the actual Windows command prompt instead of the server's one and it worked
Correct version
So I guess the problem isn't with my windows or java version then.
No @Alec
That java version is correct
.
You had java 17 installed already and the system is using that route by default
Which is correct
This java ver only works with mc 1.12.2 and such
Your server would crash on start if it ever used java 8
So do you have any idea what the issue might be then?
No 😔
A plugin is doing funky stuff
What language is your OS in
I mean, it's Win10, so I guess it's written in C?
I don't think I'm using any plug-ins. Is there a way to tell?
No. English, Spanish, japanese, Korean.
Oh, sorry. It's in English.
Uh the plugins folder
If you don't know what's that then you haven't gotten plugins
Oh crap
You said you're on vanilla 😂
Mind trying a server software called paper?
Copy the world folder somewhere else just in case
I'm unsure if it'll fix the issue but paper is generally better than running the vanilla server software
I've transferred all my data onto my new PC already, so would it be a bad idea to just reset my OS and start from scratch?
Maybe that could remove any files that are causing a problem?
..I really don't think so tbh
@Alec if that computer is old then go for it
Usually an OS reset does wonders
Do it with an USB
The built in windows OS reinstaller thing (idk the name lol) leaves residual files and is not a 100% clean install
I don’t know if I have a key though. My old PC is a prebuilt
Prebuilt means it should have a key linked to the hardware
And the key won't be an issue tho
OEM key
There should be a sticker in the bottom
Otherwise there's commands to check for the key
I don't remember them, you can search a guide on internet for that
Oh, cool, I forgot about OEM keys and was thinking about retail keys.
I’ll look into it
If your prebuilt had an OEM key, forgetting it won't be an issue
