Z-Axis Homing Causes Toolhead Collision With Bed

I'm attempting to home and the toolhead is colliding with the bed no matter what I set my z-offset to. Applying changes to z_offset in printer.cfg seems to have no effect.

adjusting the probe down slightly. i think it may be toohigh relative to the nozzle tip. its strange because I hadn't changed the nozzle out or anything prior to the issue despite successful homing before.

As soon as the sensor detects a bed or a piece of iron, the Z axes must stop immediately. Did you measure the voltage at the input?

verify the little LED at the top(where the wires come out) lightsup/goes out when you put a piece of metal under the probe, verify the probe is actually triggering.
