Speed of pre generating Terralith worlds
Hi, I am currently pregenerating a map for a server with a few friends modpack has Terralith mekanism etc. (server has 150 mods) i am using chunky to pregenerate the map so i wanted to ask if anyone got tips to make the process any quicker - currently i am at arround 9 chunks per second

runs on 18 - 28gb s of memory on an 16vcpu arm server
Forge terrain generation is entirely single threaded. You'd need better single core performance to improve terrain generation.
wait it is, wasnt multi threading introduced in like 1.13?
Not for world generation and loading.
oh just found the thing again indeed only rendering thats sad, are there any mods that could improve world gen?
1.19.2 btw i forgor to say
its sadly only 1.16 otherwise id have testet it for generation for now i just wanna test anyway
even if this is experimental do you know how to build? for me it just outputs some weird java error
chunky dev build
This thing is so unstable lmao
At least one or two mods in your server will be totally destroyed by it
Like create
What's your CPU?
Too much ram
12GB should be max
This also breaks with world edit
In fabric
Do not recommend
What about it breaks?
I use it on my server with world edit :pepecross:
/fill
Or /replace idk
A wall I once tried to build would not remove correctly
It was as if it was there but it wasn't
And interacting with nearby blocks would remove blocks aroused the wall
Ah
Well ty for the info
@Kr1pt1c
You're on ARM which they do not have a great single core performance compared to many x86_64 processors
You're on OCI?
You can't speed up the rate but 9 cps is alright
I hope you won't get more than 4 or 6 players there
back sry, no running on hetzner server just trying them out rn, so amd / intel could be better for mc noted
u shouldnt use a vps if possible
use a mc host
most vps arent made for workloads like mc
what mc host would you recommend? i also have another vps i use for the actual server and it runs quite well

make a post
ok thx
