need help with open parties and claims mod - fabric server config - mainly perms
I have found next to no info online for this mod (https://modrinth.com/mod/open-parties-and-claims), and am not familiar enough with minecraft modding/standards. The vast majority of info for it is in the config files and in game gui. I saw some people here talking about it, so here I am.
My goal with it is a couple things:
- let users define their "claims" though they dont need protection
- have those claims on a map
- have multiple server/admin claims that are protected, with only allowed players being able to edit them. normal approved users, not operators
I like this mod for those applications. I do not want to have an external map showing the whole world to everyone.
(actual problem) The problem I am having is with the server claims. How do I whitelist people through the server claims?
I was debating an admin account claiming them, then player/parties allied with it can use those claims. But the limitations of the party system mean that would only work for 1 claim at a time. If I have more than 1 "server" claim then it will give access to all of them. Another piece of the puzzle may be the perms system? but I dont understand what is going on with it. heres what it says in the config: I am currently using a perms mod called player roles. https://modrinth.com/mod/player-roles I dont understand how the perms here work, or how I might make it use mine? I was having issues with the fabric form of luckperms, which is why I am using player roles instead. It essentially gives access to commands. I am not sure how to proceed here. Wish there was more docs for the mod. Thank you in advance 🙂

vanilla commands with fabric. something else was strange, but unsure now. though even if I got luck to work, I dont know if it would help the main issue with open parties
that does seem like it would fix my main issue with luck perms, thank you. I may switch back, though player roles is kinda nice.
However I still dont really know how to solve the open parties issue. or how perms even play into the mod, spare commands
I am aware of what perms do and how claims plugins work. This one specifically seems a bit differnt to me and I not understand how to make perm bypasses happen in server claims

no, so the issue is that I havent found a way to make claims by an admin or the server that I an whitelist specific people into. with separate perms for multiple different server/admin regions
the way this specific mod handles claim perms are confusing and do not seem to enable that
I had to go to the patreon discord for the mod. For those looking here:
atm there is no way to whitelist people aside from the party system. that system doesnt apply to server claim at all too. Xaero is planning an update to it in order to add this func.
perms default to fabric built in if the specified perms system is not installed
you cant set expiration timers off, just set them for 1000s of years lol
my solution to the whitelist problem is to install anther claim mod to claim the regions thats has that func, then admin claim over those for visuals.
