unknown host error on established server
I run a small vanilla 1.20.1 server built off the Oracle free VMs that's been running for a few weeks now. The server is hosted in the eastern USA, and I have five players from as far away as Poland who have no trouble accessing it. Yesterday I whitelisted a player from Australia. Unlike the others, this player received an "Unknown Host" error when they attempted to join. Does anyone have suggestions?

Have them change their DNS settings perhaps?
What should they change to?
googles or cloudflares 1.1.1.1
clarification:
8.8.8.8
/8.8.4.4
for Google, 1.1.1.1
for CF.
0.0.0.0
ain't a valid address lolI remembered seeing a video on using 0.0.0.0(musta been clickbait/scam) 🤦
tell them to just turn on https://1.1.1.1
Ok update, we've changed DNS settings to CF, but the player still can't get in. I'm having them check their firewall right now, but otherwise we're at a loss
Update 2, the player kept adding a period to the end of the IP for whatever reason. Thank you guys for your help but we've figured it out!
