Transfer server data from offline to online
Hey, my server was previously in offline mode, and I want to switch it back to the online mode, however when I do that, member inventory is reset. Is there any way I can store the data or not?

might work
Nah we help people trying to move to online mode usually that's encouraged
Shouldn't punish somebody for wanting to do things the right way
i wasn't punishing, i just like that video
I will create a script that will temporarily enable online mode so people can get support :thonk:
I mean that's what Dk already posted but yeah pls dont, have the people play on their accounts!
I honestly can't tell if AdminCraft is serious or just joking about the offline mode.
we arent
joking
Both. I think most people who answer questions frown upon it. However there are some who don't like it so much as to completely blacklist anyone from asking. I fall in-between. I think sometimes, if its the root of the problem and there are just a bunch of issues with it, then you kinda dug yourself into that hole. However, if you just need help and you happen to be offline, I might not say anything. There are also people who legitimately can't buy the game, such as just not having the income or just being a kid (like if parents say no to you spending money on the game)
So I think its a complicated issue. While I don't think Microsoft needs the money and I'm not particularly fond of them (privacy and stuff) I am against piracy and don't think it should be the first option.
I actually seen the same thing on another server, where every hated anyone using cracked Minecraft but they were okay with not paying for Windows.
My personal view on piracy is that in most cases it doesn't make the company loose money as there was never a way to make the sale in the first place.
For example I used to have cracked Mc as I simply did not have the money, it was not Mojang loosing money, simple they wouldn't get it anyways. Now that I have the money I was able to buy it.
The difference is I wouldn't be asking a Microsoft community to support my hypothetical pirated copy of windows. Official or otherwise. I would go to a piracy supporting community.
I agree that communities can choose to not support it and that's fine because at the end of the day it is illegal. Pirating minecraft is against the law so yeah, I understand why r/AdminCraft would want to not encourage or support it
Just a thing I should say, my opinion is possibly influenced by me living in a country where downloading pirated content is allowed, sharing it is not.
I actually wonder why doesn't the same thing happen here with mesage signing so the messages can be reported as they are both pretty similar features, where option to disable it exists to mainly let people operate LAN servers better.
dont think u can report chat message if ur on a lan world without internet
Huh, I had to disable it on my server when I was using it for LAN because all messages failed to send.
Could be an error on my part though
i meant the "without internet" part
You can't report them but I was talking more about the part that both options exist for the same reason but (and Microsoft would prefer people using them in default settings) but only one gets people here kinda mad at it.
Because one supports a crime and the other supports people not wanting Mojang to thought police them. They're not comparable and it's stupid to try to.
