Anyone know the main differences between Waterfall and Velocity (papermc)?

The main difference is that waterfall is a fork of bungeecord and velocity is not.
Is there a flavor of preference amongst the community?

Nowdays, Velocity is preferred. It is maintained by the PaperMC developers and they claimed that is more fast and stable than bungeecord.
velocity is the fastest and more stable and that isnt just a claim
+ scaleable
Velocity plugins aren't guaranteed to work on waterfall and vice versa. So if you need bungeecord specific plugins you should use waterfall
Okay, but that's just within the Velocity/Waterfall .jar that's running. The servers that run under it (paper in this case) aren't affected (plugin-wise)
