Am I not eligible for a waived Hobby fee?
Hi folks, a verified user here!
I’ve read a couple of Railway posts about the transition and made a few posts/comments on this Discord server about it — the devs and others said that all existing verified users will be grandfathered in and will get the Hobby plan fee waived.
Today I opened Railway and got the notification about switching to Hobby plan.
However, when I clicked on the switch button, I didn’t see any text about the waived fee. Actually, I did see the popup first that I have insufficient credits and that I need to topup to have $10 (I have $5).
So when I decided to put $5 more, the system said that $5 will be automatically deducted for the plan fee, e.g. I’ll put $10, will get $15, but $5 will be automatically deducted, so I’ll have only $10 in the end.
Can someone explain why this is happening? Is it normal? Is my fee waived so I shouldn’t worry and topup $10?

if it doesn't say that your fee is waived, it isn't.
It sounds to me like you're not a verified user. To be a verified user, you'll need to have paid a nonzero bill in the past few months as well as having a relatively active Github account
WTF, why is that? I am verified though.
I am a verified user.
have you paid a bill
Please explain why you think you're a verified user
is it because you were on the developer plan?
No, because I’ve checked the link last time when I saw the news about new plans. Here’s a post with my mention → https://discord.com/channels/713503345364697088/1114802678015479868/1114802678015479868
I’ll find a message about me being verified.
Yeah, I’ve put $5 before.
Buying credits =/= paying a bill iirc
Unless it's a top up
Yeah, it was a top up
WTF, I did check verification link now and it says I’m unverified and my GitHub account seems to be disconnected.
I was verfied before!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ nothing we can do here. If you'd like to dispute this, please email [email protected]
Can I ping Railway team here, so they can reply to this post?
Having a verified Github account is only one small part to being a "verified' user
No
But I was verified before.
If then un-verifieded me, then it fucking sucks. And it’s BS.
I don't make the rules, I've told you what your next step should be
