Removing smell from thrifted camel hair overcoat

I've got an old camel hair overcoat that I received on ebay from goodwill. It smells, fairly strongly, ...like an actual camel, and possibly with some old person smell mixed in there as well. I love how it looks but have no idea if this smell is likely to go away. Any ideas on what to do with this kind of fabric? Should dry cleaning be enough to take care of it, or given the source should I expect that it won't dissipate?

Thanks! Would you recommend dry cleaning first, or trying alternate methods like vodka etc. first? Might not matter but I'm always worried about setting stains

You can also put the jacket in a closed garment bag with some dried coffee grounds I’ve heard

yeah when I get stinky clothe I put them in a closed dryer/garment bag with coffee grounds or paper towels soaked in vinegar at the bottom (not touching the gament obv) and it works

I just gave mine to the dry cleaner, it also came back a bit stinky (but different stink) and then aired it out over a couple... weeks? Not efficient but oh well

Camel hair isn't that substantially different from a wool or cashmere, it's just fiber. It's possible to hand wash stuff like this with proper care. As far as scent goes, consider leaving it out in direct sunlight for a few hours inside out and right side out. UV can help a lot with scent.

Thanks folks, I'll give these a shot after dry cleaning if the smell's still there!
