Trying to use Iris for Shaders (New to this stuff)
I'm Extremely new to using shaders in general for MC and i was recommended to use Iris for installment, I downloaded the installer from the official website but I'm at a lost on what to do now. I already downloaded the one shader i wanted to and I'm basically asking for some step by step help.

you'll need to install Java from https://adoptium.net/ Make sure to select a LTS release, and in the installer make sure to check off "set Java_Home variable"
then the .jar file should work fine
meaning i will beable to open the installer for Iris?
yes
Alternatively you can install fabric/quilt manually and then add iris and sodium from modrinth to the mods folder
ahh i see. how do i know when adoptium is installed? I downloaded it but i only see the installer in the files
Which installer do you mean?
the one for the adoptium link
uh sorry, am a bit confused
oh wait i think i got it im sorry. didnt mean to confuse ya.
oki
so now i see the iris & sodium in my java launcher
could u help me in how to install my shader
its just one
you know where .minecraft is?
if not, just type %appdata% in windows search
in .minecraft there should be a shaders folder
or well, it gets created when you launch the game if it's not there
i found the .minecraft folder
but i dont see shaders. So should i launch the game with iris so it can make the folder?
or should i manually make a shader folder?
either works
ok i see the "shaderpacks" folder
so now i just copy the shader into the folder?
is it more of a drag and drop?
mhm!
you can drag and drop
then it should appear in the shader selection screen
actzally if you're in windowed mode you can drag and drop shaders into the shader selection screen too
oh really! ill give it a shot
the selection screen is in the launcher correct?
it's in the video settings
there is a shaderpacks tab
so i couldnt find the video settings but i made sure the shader were in those installations
video settins inside the game
