random IP keeps trying to join but fails
Im hosting a 1.19.3 modded personal server from my old pc and someone/bot keeps attempting to join and is spamming my console full of 'rejected vanilla connection' 'disconnecting vanilla conection attempt'
I swapped the server to vanilla to see if they'd join so i could ban their IP address but that does nothing as they're now in a loop of '...packet 2/0 (abb) was larger than i expected...' is there a way to put a stop to this without sacraficing my server being offline?

Theyre not trying to join, its just a server scanner.
They ping every commonly used port on every ipv4 address to see which addresses respond, and with that they can know which IPs have servers.
How do i stop them? They were pinging all the ports i had open for games(had one open for vrising and ARK that router logs showed being pinged)
And do i gotta be worried about them doing so?
Nothing to be worried about
and no real way to stop them either, tbh
you can firewall the ip off, but they will cycle every few hours
so they wont be trying weasel their way into my wifi and do something to mess with my stuff? in the router logs its different IP's almost every time. with only a few of them repeating
[LAN access from remote] from(their IP) to (port forwarded IP), Jun 27 08: 30 :37
[], Jun 13 05:12:41
so they wont be trying weasel their way into my wifi and do something to mess with my stuff?no
okay, thats a relief. Never had this happen before with a server so i started to get annoyed then panic because ban-ip didn't stop them lol. is there a way to atleast hide the error messages they send? preferbly via server.properties or a forge mod since thats the modding im using for the server?
No, just ignore them.
