Done
Also, file format?
Mkv is not supported by premiere. I know there is a fix for that but I cant seem to find it

Because I dont really know HDR workflows to be honest
Oh sorry I missread lol
Elgato 4K Pro MK2
And also I mix HDR content with non HDR content in premiere
So is not only HDR in the final video

Yes
ThereĀ“s really not much benefit for me to export HDR, Im just trying to make the workflow as easy as possible managing that one HDR souce I work with

Ohhh I see. And how would that Tonemap workflow look like? Im sorry I just dont know where to begin lol
Nice and done ^^
Looks even more saturated now though
That capture being from the HDR monitor inside OBS

Yes, on one monitor
In the 4K utility app looks good
Maybe it has to do with this settings within the 4K Utility?
HDMI Interval
EDID Entry mode
EDID (Internal)
Oh I think I know what it is
Elgato is already doing the tonemapp
And then OBS is just putting HDR on top of it?

Now it looks even worse lol
If I change it to Rec 2100 HLG it improves
But itĀ“s still oversaturated
Well it actually doesnt look that bad. Its just when I send you the screenshot the colors get messed up for some reason
GG @luxassxiv, you just advanced to level 5 !
Its still way more saturated than the actual source though
Ok it was this shit, changing the EDID mode from combined to Screen fixed it

I dont really know if I ended up setting it up in HDR or not, but it looks good which is the important thing here xD
Did a recording test here, think it looks decent (it is tonemapped to SDR)

Yeah I kinda prefer it that way
It looks identical to the HDR source I hace on the other screen so its good enough for me
Since you seem to be very knowledgeable about this things, can I bother you one last time?
What would the best settings on Premiere to export to Youtube the content I will record with the settings we just made?

Hey there! @energizerfellow I did some long recording testing and I get this artifacts all over the recording.
Any idea whatĀ“s causing them?
They were not visible on the preview window

Faulty HDMI cable?

I get it only on darker areas of the screen it seems
Like here, footage looks good until the Playstation menu comes up and I get the green dots
And that cannot be replicated in the preview, even without scaling
Seems to be an output problem from OBS side

Ok got the issue nailed down
It was a mixmatch between the color space of the capture device and the one in advance settings within OBS
Changing color space here from Rec. 709 to 2100 PQ fixed it
GG @luxassxiv, you just advanced to level 6 !

Sorry to bother you, I just freaked out a bit because I just lost a 3h recording xD
Im looking now at Premiere Import of the files (now that they record properly) but they look washed out. Probably because Im recording HDR, but both on OBS preview and on VLC on a non HDR monitor it looks fine, it only looks washed out when importing to premiere.
Why would this be?
This is the video Im importing for reference:

Oh wow ok, dumb me I didnt check the color space
Well it finally seems I have figured out the workflow for this kind of work! I still have to read some of the links you sent yesterday but youĀ“ve been a lifesaver.
Thanks a lot man ā¤ļø
