good startup command for a 2 gig server pterodatcyl
using fabric with mods (lithium and stuffs only) and one specific world of mine keeps crashing cause of out of memory, so wondering how can I stop that from happening

Give it more ram
yeah
a modded server is 2 gigs of ram is bad
Any other options? I tried Purpur but that thing crashes too
Will not go for upgrading RAM yet. But if I have too, how much do I need
It’s most likely crashes because it’s out of memory
You said it yourself, “out of memory”
Give it more memory.
Also if ur using a container, make sure there’s enough ram for overhead/heap
Oh. I use a container, wdym about the last line?
U know how if u boot up ur computer. And u have zero programs open. How ur computer is still using ram. Very little, but still some. That’s cause ur operating system, and other background programs need to use some.
Same with a container. The act of spinning container, booting up and running Linux, and then turning on the mc server costs ram. So if u have a 2gb container, then allocate ur server 2gb. Ur os and other background shit is getting nothing. And can cause it to crash.
So u want some “overhead”
Some extra ram for the container that the mc server doesn’t use
Oh ok thanks
assuming i have 2 gig, is 1625M for Xms good?
right now it's this one
Well… I’d highly recommend more ram. That’s currently 1gb. Which for a vanilla server is already kinda not enough. You have a modded server. You want ALOT more.
And I’m not sure the specifics on what mods u have or the difference in fabric. But there’s a LOT of flags that can improve ur performance.

Look at these flags. There might be better tuned flags for fabric and I’ll let someone more informed in that area take over

the mods I have are just performance and geyser. Serverside only
I'll consider more ram
2 gb of ram with geyser aint gonna be fun
Personally I'd say like 4gb of ram minimum these days
