iris is a mod that uses fabric as it's mod loader, if you want to use other mods it's recommended to install fabric and put iris and sodium in the mods folder along with other fabric mods (can also use the installer to set that up for you)
The installer provides you the "fabric install" option, which will allow you to put any fabric mods in the mods folder and launch them with the "fabric" profile in the launcher
