A bunch of “Pricing” questions
Hey folks, I’ve read the new changelogs post and have a few questions:
1. I do have a “Developer” plan right now, but I use credits instead of a subscription — what will happen to my account? Will I be switched to “Hobby” plan automatically? If so, then will I pay for $5 every month?
2. What does “a fee is waived” for existing paying and verified users? Does it mean that we won’t need to pay $5 each month, but will still get $5 in usage (since new Hobby plan has $5 in usage)?
3. How to switch to a subscription/usage based pricing, not credits one? Railway says I have “Credits-based subscription”, so what if I decide to switch to a “Usage-based subscription”?
Apologies if these questions are a bit silly — I just want to clarify and don’t make a mistake.

1. Yes, as long as you’re verified (https://railway.app/verify) and on the developer plan, you should be exempted from the fee.
2. You won’t need to pay the $5 a month for the plan and will get it for free, with the $5 discount. Anything accumulated after the $5 discount is charged to your payment method at the end of the month.
3. Same plan, your credits should just be applied along as any deductible discounts to your accumulated invoice.
Thank you, bro.
Are you sure you will still get the 5$ discounts? I'm hearing different things
#Question regarding pricing changes
Ah never mind, Just saw the update that was posted
1. Got it, thanks!
2. So it’s the same as right now, correct? answered in https://discord.com/channels/713503345364697088/1114802678015479868/1114802678015479868
3. Aha, got it — so, basically, “Hobby” will be a unified approach, but you get rid of credits, correct? Like pay $5/m for $5 in usage, and what you spend more is gonna be deducted at the end of the month, correct? answered in https://discord.com/channels/713503345364697088/1114802678015479868/1114802678015479868
Thanks, Railway team!
So, if I'm not wrong.
I'm on the developer plan. And my account is verified.
After the change, I will not pay the monthly 5$ of the plan, but only the resources usage that passes the free 5$ that gets included on the hobby plan.
So, I will not notice any difference on my case.
Is this correct?
yes, for you, the only thing that changes is the name of the plan
yay, thanks
