VSync locks to 60fps, i have 144hz monitor
I tried iris with shaders. For some reason when i turn on vsync the framerate locks at 60fps. But if play vanilla , or with optifine and shaders and turn vsync on , it locks to 144hz , like it should , since i have 144hz monitor.

wait, can you play with optifine with more than 15 fps?!

have you tried checking windows' display settings to see if the monitor is set to be used at 144hz?
windows defaults to 60hz iirc
my game goes to max 75fps when vsync is on because my second monitor is 75hz, in vanilla or with iris. cant test with of because i get less fps there :p
It might be because it sets your framerate to 60FPS. Try going into the options.txt file and setting the fullscreenResolution to 1920x1080@24:144, that has always helped me

and also iirc editing options.txt does not work anymore

There is no such thing unfortunately, that's why you have to change it in options.txt ...
maybe bettermc uses the Borderless mod

if you want to try the borderless Fullscreen mod, there's no disadvantage on using it
it will work just like fullscreen

btw i gotta add that the reason i ply with vsync is because of awful tearing
