not currenly possible, you can always load a set amount of credits tho, once (or if) the credits are depleted your services/plugins get paused
railway is also thinking about adding static pricing plans with pre established limits
but no eta for that
Thanks @Brody the issue with limits and pausing is I really don't want it to shut off but I also know I don't need it to consume the levels it is consuming. I could obviously move to something else but I really like Railway, and having just moved from a Digital Ocean box with Dokku I was hoping I could cut my costs and save on managing the instances (upgrades etc) but at the moment it's costing me more
so the issue is that postgre is consuming a lot of resources, your services are good?
Yeah Postgres is the main problem right now, I can limit my java process at least by passing flags on the Procfile start command
okay what is postgre using in terms of cpu and mem?
Hey @daioio. - no timeline but we are looking into adding this to Railway + additonal cost controls
Thanks @Angelo that would be awesome!
@Brody currently using 1.69GB and CPU tends to be between vCPU 0.0-0.2
that is quite a lot of mem, i dont know what you are using the database for, but would you say its light use or heavy database use?
This seems to be in line with normal usage in fairness
Any timeline potentially on the scaling or configuring of the database? It's costing way to much to have the DB on railway at the moment so will have to migrate it if there is nothing is in the pipeline ☹️
Whats your expected budget for the DB?
1GB usage would be ideal but 2GB ok so like $10-20
