is it q good idea dual cpu? my board is 1 cpu socket
Is there a way to get fast cpu? I was thinking of combining another mid tier cpu to get a better cpu because I'm worried of bottle neck. I'm current saving to get the rtx 4070

What? Combining CPU's? what are you talking about?

If you are so worried about your cpu holding back new gpu, just buy a 9900k and be done with it
^^^
you cannot combine cpus.
But isn't that crazy expensive?
then buy a new platform instead
You can't combine CPU's, that's not a thing. If you have some crazy method of micro-soldering parts from one CPU to another and magically making it perform better, then people would've heard a bout it
If you're talking about systems that have two CPU's on one motherboard, that's typically only for Intel Xeons (older ones are cheap but perfom terribly by modern standards, new ones cost many thousands of dollars) or AMD Epyc server CPU's (which also cost many thousands of dollars)
The only thing you can do is get a higher end CPU that works on your motherboard, or get a new motherboard that's on a different socket and get a CPU that goes with that board
if you want dual CPU you still need to change motherboards, so just buy the newest board/CPU from either intel or amd and that's it
the 9900K can be found under 300 used
What
if he wanted dual cpu he needs a new motherboard. So it's not worth it, since he can just buy a new motherboard od AM5 or LGA 1700 and it will be cheaper and better
Ah now I get what you mean, your original sentence sounded like you were saying he could have a dual CPU setup if he bought a whole other system
well he CAN have a dual cpu if he buys another system (it would have to be xeon/threadripper/epyc, as was said) but it's just not worth it and it won't even help for games lol as they don't benefit from extra cores
I was saying that it sounded like you said "yes you can have a dual CPU system if you buy the newest Intel/AMD board"
yeah, not what I meant at all. thank you for pointing that out lol
my 9900k was CPU bottlenecking a 4090 in warzone 1. Obviously a 4090 is excessive but the 9900k couldn't hang anymore. even with a 5ghz all core. 1% lows were terrible.
GG @_mouf, you just advanced to level 3 !
Yeah but a 9900K is the cheapest upgrade for that platform that they can do
And they also aren't planning on pairing with a 4090 😉
Very true, I am also on Ultrawide so should have been GPU bound at 5120x1440. Or at least so I thought. Lol
