LDL and Iris

IMS said "if LambDynamicLights is installed, it's renderer will override Iris entirely". https://discord.com/channels/774352792659820594/774352792659820598/1094309584845406278 Does it also apply when LDL is installed but disabled within the config? Are there shaders that can mimic LDL's features?

You can use LDL with iris, it's just not as good as shaders own light, some shaders like complementary have hand light when holding light sources but you can't see from other players

I see my main concern is performance, so I'm looking for alternative approaches

Yeah if you need better performance a shader that has dynamic lights is definitely the better option LDL is quite performance intensive, pretty much like OptiFine's dynamic lights
