Running on dedicated GPU
I know this probably isn't the best place to ask this, but I couldn't find anything helpful online and I'm sure you guys have had similar problems
For some reason, even after installing NVIDIA drivers on Ubuntu, Minecraft refuses to run on my GPU. Any advice?

You’d probably want to render everything on the dedicated gpu then
The alternative is something like bumblebee but that reduces performance
oop
trying bumblebee with primus now 😅
how would I do that?
For Ubuntu uh idk
I’ve done it once but I’ve forgotten how I did it
For arch I use Optimus-manager
Maybe there’s something similar for Ubuntu/Debian
welp, bumblebee is throwing me errors 😅
I keep seeing this everywhere:
Nvidia optimus enabled laptops
yes
i dont have a laptop 😅
Optimus enabled just means having an Intel/AMD iGPU and NVIDIA dGPU
ignore it saying laptop
it’s the same on both
oh alr
sweet
it’s just rare on desktops
wdym?
most desktops ditch the iGPU if they have a dGPU
Is there a way to disable my iGPU?
yes
Wait you have a desktop
many ways
but it’s not really recommended
yes
if you’re fine with either doing prime or Optimus manager
Why don’t you uh plug the cable into the gpu
I recommend Optimus manager
ummm
I did
ignore chalky
This
they’re cringe
prime is good if you intend to use your iGPU
if you don’t, use Optimus manager
it lets you switch by logging out
Nah I’m baffled how is it using the integrated gpu
that’s normal
Really?
that's for arch tho right?
Wasn’t aware
idk
Are you sure the primary display is dGPU in your bios?
I eventually figured out that was it 😅
Thanks tho!
