[resolved] Iris not working with custom Game Directories?

[resolved]Hi, I am used to have my Minecraft Game Directory stored on Microsoft's OneDrive, so that my saves are stored in the cloud. This works perfectly with Vanilla Minecraft as well as when using Optifine with shaders (which is how I had been playing Minecraft so far), however I wanted to switch to Iris & Sodium and encountered issues trying to set this up. Simply changing the Game Directory, as I had been doing before does not seem to work for Iris & Sodium, as the game then simply launches as Vanilla. Installing Iris & Sodium to my OneDrive also does not work, as the installer won't let me choose any other directory than the one where the Minecraft Launcher is installed to. Does anyone have experience with this, or have any idea on what the issue might be?

Your setup is rather unconventional, you can try if the fabric installer works with your setup and perform a manual install of iris and sodium afterwards https://github.com/IrisShaders/Iris/blob/1.18.2/docs/guide.md#manual-installation

Thanks, I got it working! Here is how: • I first installed Fabric, following this installation guide: https://fabricmc.net/wiki/player:tutorials:install_mcl:windows The important step was to change the Game Directory to my OneDrive after the installation, but before launching the Fabric loader, as explained in Step 2 of the guide. • then I continued on the 8th step of this guide: https://github.com/IrisShaders/Iris/blob/1.18.2/docs/guide.md#manual-installation downloading Iris and Sodium .jars Thanks a bunch Mithos! 🙂
