Youtube VOD random skips ahead frames but OBS reports no dropped frames

I've been experimenting with 4K60 youtube streams with the new AV1 support in OBS but I've been noticing when I watch the vod back it will occasionally skip ahead a decent chunk of time. This is particularly strange given that OBS reports no dropped frames on the encoder or network end. I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing something similar or if this is a known issue currently

Try 4k/30. Apparently there is some weirdness with 4k/60 via the new rtmp protocol that YT is tracking with obs devs YT reencode seems to be doing weird thing.s And try with no b frames

ah okay, maybe I'll just go back down to 1440p60 for now it's pretty jaring seems to skip a solid 30s sometimes

Apparently just setting b frames to 0 seems to fix it. I'd try that at 4k/60

Do we think this is related to AV1 in particular or just 4k60 streams in general? do you have a link where this was reported? I'll give the b-frames a try first I suppose

seems those comments you're referring to more relate to HEVC and not av1 so I'll cross post this thread there too to see if anyone is having similar issues with AV1
