Banned dependency (yt-dlp)
I use yt-dlp with my discord bot (python) the play music in voice channels, but apparently the module is banned on railway. Is there a good python alternative that achieves the same thing and is allowed on a deployed railway application?

N/ANo, hosting that is banned on Railway even with the developer plan.

Music bots are strictly against terms of service and your account will be permanently banned if you attempt to or are found hosting one.
I suggest you read the Terms of Service before asking questions that break it 🙂

as long as you own the rights to the music and aren't using a library to just rip DMCA protected content from websites i think it's fine

If you're using the Spotify API for what it was designed for then I also think it's fine
OP was talking about ripping audio from YouTube, you however should be fine
