Using 4 6+2 connectors
I have a GTX 1070 FTW edition GPU and I want to know if I can use 4 6+2 connectors on the GPU instead of 2 8pin connectors

You mean two 6+2?
And usually, yes. The included cables that are 8 pin in all 4 of my PSUs are 6+2
My 6950xt needs three 8 pin. Each of the cables I'm using are 6+2. I believe they are broken out like that for better flexibility. Because not all GPUs need 8 pin. Some just need 6 pin

6+2 cables are just 8 pin cables that let you use them in 6 or 8 pin modes
