❔ Beginner Project Idea
Hey I'm a beginner and looking to work on a project:
I'm beginner with C# using a app called " solo learn" to learn C# is it a good beginner project to make a app for character creation for a table top RPG?
All I would do is ask for you to enter in name, race, and class? But I would also have to provide this information in the form of an app? Since I want it to be an app and I feel like it'll challenge me just wondering if it's a good start
It'll be like dnd beyond character customization

If by “app” you mean a console app, sure. Anything more than that, probably not from Sololearn. The platform is good for speeding through basic syntax and a small intro to a language’s library but it doesn’t offer anything more than that
Same here, lets just say i dipped my full feet in the Pool of C#. What i am doing right now is learning basics little by little, first how do i make movement how do i make things do that or this. Whats helping is the unity manual they got on their website

well, I wouldn't start with Unity either 😅
that's not true. Be fair to sololearn. I don't recommend it either but you do also get a grasp of object oriented basics and other C# features like events, delegates and what not. The issue with sololearn is just that it only scratches on the surface and doesn't really go into detail. So some people think they know everything after finishing a course there when they actually barely know anything
I won't just use solo learn once I get my pc or laptop fixed! But as of now ima use that and Microsoft documents! Do you think that app as a beginner project is a good start
Sure, depends on what level of complexity you want.
A console app that just prompts and "saves" your name, race, class etc is fairly easy.
A GUI app where you can tweak the stats and skills and stuff will be a lot harder
