just wondering cos MechaKeys 1 doesnt have this
This is a standard Windows Defender false-positive. Feel free to run the app, should you choose to.
why does it give false positives to like all apps
I can't positively say because I don't know how Windows defender works. All I can give you is a guess:
My best guess is that Windows Defender's heuristics detects a process of Mechakeys as an unwanted program.
yea it told me its not a "commonly downloaded file"
so is it detecting the like keystroke detector or something?
like does it think its a keylogger
it shouldn't, since it's basically javascript asking for user input. A built-in function in all programming languages
In fact, Windows has a built in keylogger, which they claim you can disable, but, I'll let you judge if it's truly turned off or not.
ah alr thx
possibly, we use a common public package for keystroke detection. this means some use it for good and bad which leads to some false positives on our end...
I'm positive that Windows detected some program using this for malicious reasons and now we're flagged as a potential threat.
