V-Core 500 3.0 -- 3.1 Upgrade Woes

Beware of generic kits claiming to be V-Core 3.0 -> 3.1 upgrades. The joiner plates were for a 3.0 even though they stated 3.1 joiner plates. The flanges on the F695ZZ bearings were so rough they acted like grinders on the belt edges. Significant wear after one 60 minute print (note: have over 400 hours of printing on the old idlers and pulleys with almost no wear at all).

You can modify the 3.0 plates to fit 3.1 if you're handy - https://www.printables.com/model/248730-ratrig-v-core-30-to-31-xy-joiner-plate-modificatio Also, the bearings are built to a standard, of which does not have a chamfer specified for the inside edge of the flanges -- this is almost expected with generic bearings (maybe even quality bearings, I haven't seen too many in person). I'm with you on being concerned about this, I actually took a jeweler's file and attempted to modify those edges on my bearings as best as I could.

Yep did the reverse joiner plate and re-drill. Worked better than I expected. As for bearings, purchased a couple of samples here in the land down under to check quality before buying a new set of F695ZZ bearings.
