Distant Horizons not generating 1.12 worlds properly
dh seems to generate LODS wrongly upon loading a 1.12 world.

Did you convert the world to the new version completely (I think there is a button in the menu to do this) or did you just load up the world?
If the chunks aren't formatted for the current version of MC DH probably doesn't see them and generates the terrain accordingly.
all i did was just download the world, and just load it, nothing else.
Then you probably need to run the converter in the world menu first.
hmm, is it the "Optimize World" option?
Maybe? I don't remember what the exact option is called.
hmm, the option is used to make the world faster for newer versions

@James Seibel (GMT-6) the chunk optimization is done, now i have a far bigger issue
upon entering the world, i get an insanely high ms ticks, and because of that DH doesn't generate
just passing over 1k ticks now...
and this doesn't happen on any other world other than this.
Hmm... I'm not sure what would be causing that.
That sounds like a MC related bug more-so than anything else.
Try disabling the distant generator and if nothing changes remove DH to see if there is an issue with MC and that world.

update: removing DH seems to have fixed the low tps somehow. now i will try to enable it again
and disabling the distant generator seems to fix the problem...
