specs question
if my laptop has integrated (amd) and a dedicated gpu (nvidia 3060) will the settings I change in amd radeon affect my game at all? (tessellation, image sharpening etc.)

do yo know which processor it is? afterall if changing settings in amd radeon shoudnt effect much specially like image sharpening but you can test it out
if in nvidia 3d settings I have set preferred gpu to high performance NVIDIA processor does it use my integrated graphics at all?
No, if you have chosen high performance nvidia processor it wont use integrated graphics, + its preferable to use nvidia processor
For this, as far as i know, amd radeon has minor to major impacts on the game, depending on which setting you change.
But everything is revertible so...
so will my amd radeon settings change anything even though I’m preferring high performance nvidia processor atm?
cause i’m not sure if I need it running in the background or not
No, in your case, integrated hardware isnt even being used, so it will not have any impact on the game.
but when I’m outside a 3d app it will be used?
the integrated graphics
for clarification may i know that your laptop has
One integrated processor
nvidia 3060 gpu
Another processor
Because gpu and processor arent same, and amd radeon works for processor and not the nvidia gpu, so nvidia 3d settings will change gpu settings, and not amd's
And amd radeon will change amd processor settings
But if your pc is using another processor, then i need to know which processor it is.
Display Adapters (device manager): AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
Processor: Amd Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics (about your pc)
so even if I set nvidia gpu to preferred in 3d settings my amd radeon can still have an effect on val?
Great laptop, no bottleneck damn
Anyways back to your question : if you change nvidia gpu to preferred in 3d settngs, laptop will basically use nvidia gpu, and radeon will no longer work, thus having no impact on valorant.
currently, is it using radeon or nvidia? if uk by any chance
so for example if I have image sharpening set to some percentage and tessellation set to a certain multiplier it won’t affect val?
am assuming that option wasnt chosen until now and you then changed the preferable settnigs for nvidia
I just recently downloaded amd radeon and did some stuff with the settings I saw in a yt vid
If you change it in AMD Radeon app, nothing will change but if its changed in Nvidia 3d app then val will be effected, bbecause your laptop is using nvidia gpu, cuz ur laptop is taking effects of the nvidia 3d app
my nvidia 3d settings were already set on preferred nvidia gpu
ok
Then noth will happen in val
bc I tried these settings in display: vivid gaming enhanced colour display something like that and my val color changed
Display settings is different, even if you put a 100's of gpu, your laptop will use the integrated gpu for display , exception when you dont have integrated gpu
oh but graphics settings don’t affect then
ye
should I still keep amd radeon then?
will it affect my battery life or anything if it’s just running in the background
it may or may not, because even after changing to nvidia gpu some apps might work on amd, preferable to keep it on, whatsoever it wont give much impact on valorant
how much fps do you get btw?
i think 200+
it’s capped 180 rn
bruvvv
laptops suck tho ngl
you get around 400-500 with those specs in pc 💀
