What branch of SML did you download, and what UE version did you download?
Did you open the project in visual studio and build for editor?
v5.3.2
2.) What do you mean by that?
SF 1.0, use the main GitHub branch of SML and UE 5.3.2-css-66
SF 1.1, use the dev GitHub branch of SML and UE 5.3.2-css-68
If you cloned the SML repo, it defaults to the main/1.0 branch.
Hope that explains more clearly

Give me a bit to get home, and get unloaded

I'm giving up trying to do it.
Reason:
1.) The explanation on the page is complicated.
2.) I can't manage to do anything properly with the UE even after 6 hours.
3.) Since I only speak German, it's far too complicated to complete the whole thing.
It would have been nice to finish my particle accelerator, but if I can't do that, I'll give up.
I'll try and explain: it seems like the version of either UE or VS (or both) you have installed isn't the one that matches the ones Satisfactory is built in and all three need to match in order for it to work
The versions of UE & VS you need to install will vary depending on whether you're developing for the 1.1 experimental or the 1.0 stable release
And the versions of each that are needed for both the 1.1 experimental and 1.0 stable release are listed above by Darth, or on the page linked by Sir Digby
I had a feeling about a language barrier. Sorry, I did start helping while picking up groceries, so the need to focus on driving was real.
I figured something like that was the case in both instances and so thought I could maybe help explain in a way that google translate could translate most of ok
Please do not despair, the initial setup and getting used to the environment can be daunting. Once you figure it out though, you'll be flying through faster than a train decending from world height.

I've done everything on the page that I posted above, and the versions are the ones described there. A simple list of what you need and how to put it together would have been nice, but doing it all on 20 different websites and then registering there is a waste of time, I think.

To get started with modding Satisfactory, you’ll need multiple other pieces of software installed first. Don’t worry, we’l...
When I look at other games for mods they only have an editor, you put the bib down and enter the game part and that's it with the setup
And a page that says you need:
UE5.3.2
vs 2022
Wwise Launcher
Mod project
And then you have to proceed like this:
1. Install everything
2. ......
3. ......
On one website and not spread across 20. It should be simple, not complicated.
You're setting up an almost complete game dev environment which is a lot more than what modding in other games gives you
sorry but I'm frustrated after 6 hours of trying
Understandable
Nothing wrong with stepping back, calming down... I lost count how many times I did that.
As I said, I'm finishing my model of particle accelerator. Whoever wants it can have it. I'm done with creating my own mod.
